Joel has been called by some "the voice of his generation" and by still some others "the thinking man's Rip Taylor," while some of his critics have dismissed him as nothing more than a "cretinous, pig-faced git." Joel currently lives in San Francisco, California. He also plays slap bass in the Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band Mother'z Milk.
